Moving Prayer was an initiative begun by Churches Together in Hitchin in April 2004 to encourage us to pray together more as local Christians, and to pray for our town specifically.
It moves round to all the member churches of CTH, so that each church has the opportunity to host and lead, and is arranged on different days and at different times to enable people to come.
Meetings are about 45 minutes long, in the tradition of the hosting church.
Many include a specific focus and sometimes a speaker is invited to give background information to enable informed prayer. Some aspects of the town prayed for have been: schools, Hitchin hospital, community gardens, the homeless, Noel Family Centre, older people, councillors, mental health, airports, Lister hospital, PHASE.
