29 August
- St Mary's Church ask us to pray for Steve Wood and his family as Steve starts his ministry at St Margaret’s Church, Streatley.
- Tilehouse Street Baptist Church ask our prayers for their day conference on homosexuality next Saturday, to be led by Revd Brian Howden and a colleague using material prepared for Baptist Union.
- Hitchin Christian Centre ask us to pray that, as the African Children's Choir again perform a concert at the Christian Centre next Saturday, both performers and audience will be blessed.
5 September
- Today St Faith's Church would welcome our prayers as they start a new approach to their All-Age Worship and in similar vein St Mark's would welcome prayer support for their Sunday School as it starts a new pattern of work with the growing number of children attending it. Similarly, Christchurch suggest that we give thanks for the joys that the young people of our churches bring us. We pray for them as we welcome their enthusiasm, participation and different insights.
- Walsworth Road Baptist Church would appreciate prayers for all involved in their sponsored Songs of Praise event next Saturday.
- Our Lady's Roman Catholic Church ask for prayers as they launch an outreach phone service set up to reach those who are not walking in faith with them at the present or who are seeking guidance on their journey.
12 September
- We pray for Covenant Praise Church as they start running an Alpha Course this month.
- Pray for the Churches Together in Hitchin Council, for Michael Roden as he shares reflections on his recent sabbatical, together with the PHASE Annual General Meeting, all taking place this coming Tuesday at the Friends Meeting House.
- Holy Saviour Church ask our prayers in support of Tim Stalkartt who is taking part in a charity cycle ride in the French Alps from September 15th to September 19th.
- Our Lady's Roman Catholic Church ask us to remember in our prayers the imminent Papal visit to England and Scotland. May the Holy Spirit work with and through the Pope’s visit, bringing life and hope to all of us who together make up our nation.
19 September
- Hitchin Christian Centre ask for prayer support for Mike Pilavachi of Soul Survivor as he comes to speak to the leaders at HCC next Saturday and then as he speaks to the people of Hitchin at the Town Hall in the evening. We particularly pray that he may reach all those that might be described as unchurched but are attracted to this event.
- Christchurch ask us to give prayerful thanks for A Rocha and all Christian agencies calling Christians to be good stewards of God's earth.
- St Mary's Church Please pray for those running and attending their study course entitled “The Way” that has just started.
- Walsworth Road and Tilehouse Street Baptist Churches remind us to that next Sunday is ‘Back to Church’ Sunday. We pray that many people whose church attendance has lapsed, and others who have not been before, will be welcomed to our churches.
26 September
- St Mary's Church ask our prayers for all involved in their new musical groups for children, The Music Train and St. Mary’s Training Choir.
- St Faith's Church ask us to hold in our prayers all who have recently moved to a new school or have changed to a new school class. We also pray for all those who are starting college at this time - maybe they are away from home, but certainly they will be involved in a new and challenging environment.
3 October
- Please pray for the various community groups at St Mary's Church as they look to welcome new members on their ‘Homecoming Day’ today.
- St Faith's Church would welcome our prayers in support of all involved in their Patronal Festival on Friday of this coming week.
10 October
- We celebrate in our prayers today the 141st Church Anniversary of Walsworth Road Baptist Church and pray for the Lord’s blessing on their guest preacher Rev Mark Woods, editor of The Baptist Times.
- The celebrations continue at Walsworth Road this evening as they welcome Music Praise co-ordinated through Churches Together in Hitchin. We pray for the many choirs and music groups taking part and that the gift of music and singing will inspire all who attend.
17 October
- Tilehouse Street Baptist Church ask for our prayers in support of those involved in a dramatised version of the parable of the prodigal son that they are staging next Sunday morning. May the story be communicated and understood with new insights through this different presentation.
24 October
- Walsworth Road Baptist Church remind us that today is Bible Sunday. We give thanks that we have free access to so many translations of, and commentaries on, our Holy Bible. We pray that the privilege of this freedom allows us both to gain new insights and more inspiration drawing on the wisdom of scholars and fellow Christians alike.
- With Hitchin Christian Centre, we pray for all those both attending and leading the one day holiday club taking place this coming Tuesday at HCC and organised by PHASE, the Hitchin School Workers’ Trust.
31 October
- Hitchin Christian Centre ask for prayer support for their "Live @ Nero's" event that takes place on the last Sunday of each month. We pray that, as the people of Hitchin come to listen to the music they will, through those that they meet there, discover more about Jesus and the joys of being a Christian.
- Our Lady's Roman Catholic Church suggest that we pray for the strength of the Holy Spirit to enable us all to fulfil the mission with which we are entrusted, with energy, commitment and dedication.
