North Herts Sanctuary

A CHANCE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

The North Herts Sanctuary is seeking new members for its Management Committee.  The Charity is currently undergoing a period of change and you could be part of a successful development and expansion for the Sanctuary.

In conjunction with the Housing Dept of North Herts District Council we envisage a new range of services and facilities to assist the homeless in our area.  This is part of a national campaign to end “Rough Sleeping” and made hostels such as ours “places of change”.

There is an exciting opportunity to be part of this hard working team at the very start of a new phase of development for the Sanctuary.  We need to complete the purchase of a new building, draw up a blue- print for its future use by our residents, oversee an extension to our premises, and make sure the necessary business plan and funding is in place.

To bring these ideas into reality and develop the best strategy for success we need to strengthen our management organisation.   The main requirement for those offering their services, is an ability to work constructively with others in a management team, and a desire to help the homeless.  Obviously any management / business skills or experience with voluntary organisations would be an advantage.

We also require addition volunteers for various tasks [cooking evening meals, picking up donated goods etc] to assist our paid staff.
